Level 2 — Diploma for Barbering Professionals
The recognised industry entry qualification for barbers, accredited by City & Guilds.
Core units
- Client consultation for barbering services
- Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
- Cut men's hair using basic techniques
- Dry and finish men's hair
- Cut facial hair into shape
- Working safely, effectively and hygienically
Level 3 — Advanced Barbering Professional
Advanced techniques for the working barber.

- Creative cutting (clipper work, fades, classic shapes)
- Design and create facial hair shapes
- Provide shaving services
- Colour men's hair
- Salon business and client retention

Assessment

Apprenticeship route: Barbering Professional Standard (ST0215) — typically 24 months on-programme plus end-point assessment, delivered alongside paid employment in a partner salon.
